‘Alright love, just sit and wait there,’ she replied.

I sat down for five minutes by which time I had had enough of waiting so I pretended to collapse on the floor. I lay there for a minute until some nurses rushed out to help me. They put me in a wheelchair and pushed me through to the children’s accident and emergency department. A right result, no two hour wait for me and I didn’t even have to walk, being wheeled there by nice nurses. As I lay on the hospital bed I started to become more and more irritated. I managed to steal a pair of scissors and began to cut my arms. My mum was called to the hospital and couldn’t believe the state I was in. I then entered psychotic mode screaming the Devil this and the Devil that. It reminds me of that scene in ‘The Exorcist’ where the girl is lying on her bed possessed. My mum had never seen me like this and I believe she was heartbroken due to just how crazy I was becoming. We weren’t close but we loved each other even if we never said it. I knew I was hurting her, but was helpless at that point.

Due to my condition the nurses reached for the phone and called a psychiatrist from the Sutton mental health team. The woman doctor examined me physically and mentally, firing questions such as, ‘Do you see demons? Do you worship Satan?’ I was thinking,
